Large walls surround an expansive garden.  It is thick with snow covered trees and frozen ponds.  Servants can always be seen outside shoveling snow, carrying wood or water, moving equipment or doing some other important chore.  There are dogs and cats that prowl the area but are usually friendly to strangers.  Colorful birds seem drawn to the garden as well.

Near the entrance, just inside the gate is the samurai magistrate office.  It's offices keep and file paperwork on laws, history and criminals for the entire region.  It is always manned, even though at night there are only two samurai here.  The front of the office receives guests and the back is where paperwork is kept.  There is no place to hold criminals.  If a samurai is to be held he will be expected to live as a guest at the main house or if he is especially vile, to be held in the heimen's magistrate office where they have jail cells.

The main house is a large two stories estate and roofed in gold tile.  It is wooden and has many circular portals, sometimes with doors built into them, all the doors have complex locks on them.  Windows are also circular but have intricate weave of metal lattice in an ornate Chinese manner.  The interior is well decorated making good use of space.  Vases, lanterns, bamboo, bonsai and all manner of other items are found inside drawing the eye.  Many Kitsuki make this place their home and one can find small mementos of the different samurai in not only the living areas but also the guest areas.  Children can always be heard laughing or crying in the halls of the busy household.  Servants move from room to room endlessly doing their chores.
