Title: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on September 16, 2011, 01:02:22 PM I'm simply curious who is a veteran (Done at least 1 already) of the L5r pbp world?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Inuichi on September 16, 2011, 01:06:37 PM *waves*
But i'm not telling who I was. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 16, 2011, 01:07:09 PM *raises hand* I am!
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 16, 2011, 01:07:23 PM I died once in Maigo no Samurai Mura, once in Mindshred's game that was set on the Mantis isles, and stuck around longer than most others in Evil Bob's last game.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on September 16, 2011, 01:08:17 PM Anyone a black scroll survivor?
I was. :3 Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on September 16, 2011, 01:08:49 PM I died once in Maigo no Samurai Mura, once in Mindshred\'s game that was set on the Mantis isles, and stuck around longer than most others in Evil Bob\'s last game. No clue. No wonder. Weren\'t in those. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 16, 2011, 01:09:54 PM Anyone a black scroll survivor? I was. :3 *raises hand* Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 16, 2011, 01:11:36 PM I died once in Maigo no Samurai Mura, once in Mindshred\'s game that was set on the Mantis isles, and stuck around longer than most others in Evil Bob\'s last game. No clue. No wonder. Weren\'t in those. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on September 16, 2011, 01:22:36 PM *joins the raised hands*
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Evil Bob on September 16, 2011, 01:43:49 PM You know, now the Newbies need a thread. I know we are getting a bunch of those and I'm pretty happy about it. I like fresh ideas and new styles of play. Still, happy to see all these familiar faces again. Good times return again!
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Heisuke on September 17, 2011, 04:53:20 AM Rats, this topic name tricked me. I was thinking you meant Veteran of another military campaign.
That's a yes, the true topic of this thread though is a no. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 17, 2011, 05:26:05 PM When do I stop being a veteran and just call myself a methuselah?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Bob From Accounting on September 17, 2011, 06:06:59 PM When do I stop being a veteran and just call myself a methuselah? Depends, how many times have you committed diablerie? Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 17, 2011, 06:11:57 PM Ho-hum, tricky question.
Let's just say that my Humanity isn't so important anymore... Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsune Hajime on September 17, 2011, 06:35:23 PM Technically!
Been a while though. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Evil Bob on September 17, 2011, 11:18:24 PM When do I stop being a veteran and just call myself a methuselah? If you are a methuselah than I am a Cain. I've been playing since the first Winter Court, and Virendra and me were Kyuden Shinomen bait... also Seppun Shin was there too. I think he survived that game where Virendra and me died horribly. Unless I know who you are Yasuko and just am not putting the pieces together. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on September 18, 2011, 05:22:02 AM Yeap, survived that one. Didn't go to Winter Court though. Didn't have Internet at that point >_>
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 18, 2011, 07:14:32 AM When do I stop being a veteran and just call myself a methuselah? If you are a methuselah than I am a Cain. I've been playing since the first Winter Court, and Virendra and me were Kyuden Shinomen bait... also Seppun Shin was there too. I think he survived that game where Virendra and me died horribly. Unless I know who you are Yasuko and just am not putting the pieces together. Wasn't at Winter Court, but been around since Shinomen. ;) The Shadow Dragon had some fun with me at that place. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 18, 2011, 07:41:54 AM I didn't get accepted to either Winter Court (and have a banner to prove it). :(
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Evil Bob on September 18, 2011, 07:51:54 AM Silly me. I know who you are now. *hugs*
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moto Wake on September 18, 2011, 08:47:54 AM I guess I fall under the veteran banner.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on September 18, 2011, 08:51:52 AM May I expect veterans to know how to be economical?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on September 18, 2011, 09:48:56 AM The Veterans Welcome Party will be a good judge of that, no? ;D
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 18, 2011, 10:20:49 AM I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'economical'. Is that referring to word economy or koku?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on September 18, 2011, 10:23:26 AM The Veterans Welcome Party will be a good judge of that, no? ;D It refers to dutiful non-depleting of available resources in the spirit of compassion to the rank and file who may otherwise find staples lacking by the end of winter isolation of the Legion. *preemptive facepalm* Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 18, 2011, 12:09:35 PM I've been around since Kyuden Asako... That was, what? 3 years or so ago?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Toku Shokami on September 18, 2011, 12:15:05 PM I don't understand much of what's being said. From what I gather there is a more or less official PBP? I've not done anything like that, though I've been in a few PBP. It's still a little new to me, but at least I get the jist of what's going on.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 18, 2011, 12:51:13 PM There were two Winter Court PbP games that were sanctioned by AEG (who chose which applicants would get to play). The first one was regarded as pretty awesome, while the second one seemed to fall flat to many observers.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 18, 2011, 02:04:30 PM Silly me. I know who you are now. *hugs* *pets* ^_^ Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Toku Shokami on September 19, 2011, 08:43:35 PM Winter Court PbP sounds awesome even if it fell flat. Perhaps if they have a new one I'll try to join. I really like that idea, and I always like it when the MCA gets more story fluff.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 20, 2011, 05:07:17 PM One thing that will always be a problem with the Winter Courts is some people will always think that you are playing this canon-character wrong (I know, I've even been there myself).
I think that a Winter Court event after the Time-Jump (not this year, however, since it would be way too late to announce it now) into Emperor Edition, would work well, since so many of the beloved "fan-favourites" will be gone by then. It gives a clean slate even when you get cast as a daimyo or a big hot-shot character. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 20, 2011, 06:35:35 PM My fan favorite isn't gone.
;D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 20, 2011, 07:31:49 PM My fan favorite isn't gone. ;D Who is that? Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 20, 2011, 07:32:24 PM One who's not dead, nor retired.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 20, 2011, 07:41:32 PM D: You won't tell me your favorite?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 20, 2011, 07:43:42 PM No.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 20, 2011, 07:45:30 PM D: *puppy dragon face*
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 20, 2011, 07:51:10 PM ::)
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on September 20, 2011, 08:09:48 PM One who\'s not dead, nor retired. Are you 100% sure? Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 20, 2011, 08:37:05 PM My fan favorite isn't gone. ;D I bet that makes you happy, dear. But I wouldn't expect her to hang around much longer after EE starts. ;) Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 20, 2011, 09:11:06 PM I know. I'm almost wishing that one of the writer's choice deals with her and her family. But I smile any time she gets story time.
I hope they give her an awesome ending, though. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 20, 2011, 09:43:07 PM Come on, how about a hint?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 21, 2011, 08:19:29 AM You've had quite a few.
:P Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on September 21, 2011, 09:26:06 AM I know. I'm almost wishing that one of the writer's choice deals with her and her family. But I smile any time she gets story time. I hope they give her an awesome ending, though. Well, we do know that the nephew is still around, and is old... so wow, she must be ancient come EE! I hope she got lots of nice little kiddies with her hubby :D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on September 21, 2011, 09:56:00 AM I didn't start playing CE until it was almost over, so I don't have any real favorite characters...
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 21, 2011, 10:44:11 AM I think I know who it is!
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 21, 2011, 11:08:48 AM I have a guess as well, and I think it's pretty solid.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on September 21, 2011, 11:33:48 AM Never too much of an enigmatic tension. :P
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on September 21, 2011, 12:12:58 PM I don't really follow the story anymore (except for the crazy Moto guy and occasional theocide), so I for one have no clue.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yogo Ousei on September 21, 2011, 03:07:41 PM I'm simply curious who is a veteran (Done at least 1 already) of the L5r pbp world? _o/ Done few before. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 21, 2011, 05:06:08 PM Well, we do know that the nephew is still around, and is old... so wow, she must be ancient come EE! I hope she got lots of nice little kiddies with her hubby :D inorite? To others: You're welcome to hazard a guess ... Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kaiu Yosai on September 21, 2011, 06:44:22 PM Is it Iewako? or..... Phoenix clan champ, I think she was pretty young last I checked.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 21, 2011, 06:49:21 PM I was thinking Matsu Yufu, but then I re-read her card and realized she was a generation too old. I can't really think of any current characters who have a named aunt, so I'm out.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 21, 2011, 08:07:44 PM No, no and no.
Though ... has Yufu popped up in any of the stories? I absolutely loved that art. ;D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 21, 2011, 08:36:35 PM Ochiai! *fangirls Ochiai, too*
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 21, 2011, 08:37:10 PM Heh.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on September 21, 2011, 08:39:56 PM >_> I like Fire... Shugenja.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Heisuke on September 22, 2011, 03:22:45 AM One of my favorite characters was Kitsu Motso.
He had balls the size of battleships. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Bob From Accounting on September 26, 2011, 01:29:02 PM One of my favorite characters was Kitsu Motso. He had balls the size of battleships. And he used them to beat people up, too. ^_^ Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 26, 2011, 01:33:50 PM Other than Da Man, my favourite character was Tsuruchi himself.
"No, today is a good day to kill." Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Heisuke on September 26, 2011, 02:45:06 PM Yoritomo, Tsuruchi, Kitsu Motso, Ikoma Ujiaki, all great characters.
I also loved Ryosei. Woman had a pair of ovaries that made mountains crumble. That's why, when I read the Fox joined the Mantis, a little bit of me died. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on September 26, 2011, 02:47:56 PM I voted against that one, but my colleagues seemed insistent.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Heisuke on September 26, 2011, 03:01:22 PM I started reading the fictions again, and I regret for the most. They seem so... what's the word... Teen Appropriate?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on September 26, 2011, 03:12:58 PM I started reading the fictions again, and I regret for the most. They seem so... what's the word... Teen Appropriate? Read the first lesson. It's really good. In a bad way. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Akodo Heisuke on September 26, 2011, 03:14:37 PM I started reading the fictions again, and I regret for the most. They seem so... what's the word... Teen Appropriate? Read the first lesson. It's really good. In a bad way. Will do. I find the current fictions too lighthearted, and very much unlike the original storyline. They are in a war with a God Avatar of Destruction, they are screwed, and yet... why do they seem so frickin cheerful? Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Matsu Aoki on September 26, 2011, 03:15:24 PM I gave up on the fictions when Kuon died. Have they got any better since?
[On topic] Done a fair few of these things before. >_> <_< Maybe more than a few. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on September 26, 2011, 03:16:54 PM I started reading the fictions again, and I regret for the most. First lesson was not cheerful. Nope. *Plots murder of resident spider.* Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on September 26, 2011, 03:21:17 PM First Lesson and the new one about the Dragon are pretty awesome.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on September 26, 2011, 03:34:00 PM Problem with fictions is there's no way they're gonna be on the level of the old ones unless they go back to professional writers. And cost-wise, that's not gonna happen. People buy it anyway (and that includes me, I'm a sucker for the CCG) :P I must've stopped following the storyline somewhere around late Jade. Came back for a bit in Lotus/Samurai and then dropped right back out.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kaiu Yosai on September 26, 2011, 04:09:00 PM What makes the storyline tough to really follow a somewhat straight line is that dumb things can appear due to tourny prizes like Gutobo killing the God Beast by eating his way out of it. My issue is mantis hasnt much quality time in story beyond Dude shows up and is attempts at bad ass for a paragraph so I don't really pay to much attention to the stories. Though First lesson was great.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Masakaze on September 26, 2011, 07:13:48 PM Just read first lesson. Spotted at least three spelling mistakes. They need a better editor.
Ignoring that... wow, what a great and compelling story. I actually feel haunted myself now after reading it. I really want Kenta to somehow take back his family lands. I hate the Spider even more... gah... Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Daigotsu Kaori on September 29, 2011, 10:13:31 PM I've been playing since Words Cut Like Steel
and I've been considering making this character the daughter of that one. Ah...memories Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shiba Takeshi on September 30, 2011, 01:16:33 PM Been playing php's since first WC then Kyuden Shinomen but had a long break after ITOW.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on September 30, 2011, 04:42:46 PM i've been in a game or three...
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kaiu Yosai on September 30, 2011, 05:47:17 PM Ive done a few PBP games over the years and have played l5r rpg for 5ish years. Technically havnt combined the two yet.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on October 01, 2011, 07:52:41 AM Been playing php's since first WC then Kyuden Shinomen but had a long break after ITOW. *pets* It's good to have you back in the flow again. ^_^ Some of us missed you. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 01, 2011, 11:44:01 AM I am also a veteran. Haven't been around in a while though. Muwahaha.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shiba Takeshi on October 01, 2011, 11:46:45 AM Been playing php's since first WC then Kyuden Shinomen but had a long break after ITOW. *pets* It's good to have you back in the flow again. ^_^ Some of us missed you. only the clinically insane ones :P Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Virendra on October 01, 2011, 12:27:42 PM What if we haven't been diagnosed?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on October 01, 2011, 12:33:37 PM I am also a veteran. Haven't been around in a while though. Muwahaha. 'Tis true, you've had a long break. Wow, your last game must have been... hum... *thinks* GMing at the LBS-game? Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Evil Bob on October 01, 2011, 12:37:02 PM I feel really honored guys. I'm bringing many people out of retirement for this. It's a very humbling feeling. Thanks for all your support in this game. I hope I can live up to your expectations.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 01, 2011, 01:12:53 PM Hello. I'm filling in as the third GM for this game. Many of you may recognize me straightaway. For those of you that don't; here's a list.

Haven't been around in a while though. Muwahaha. 'Tis true, you've had a long break. Wow, your last game must have been... hum... *thinks* GMing at the LBS-game? Life got busy. >.> Unfortunately, it got busy right when Medinaat al-Salaam was getting going, so I did less there than I'd of liked (and by that I mean, I pretty much did setup work and then had to disappear :(). Think the last I -actually- played in was Winter Court: Kyuden Asako. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 01, 2011, 01:15:52 PM Somebody posted "Roo!" then deleted it.
Who was it? >:( ;D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 01, 2011, 01:16:52 PM Nobody. Nobody likes you, Roo.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on October 01, 2011, 01:17:24 PM It was me because your post disappeared.
But... ROO! :D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 01, 2011, 01:19:57 PM YOU!!!
Hello! Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on October 01, 2011, 01:24:33 PM Yay! Me! ;D
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Matsu Aoki on October 01, 2011, 01:27:48 PM YOU!!! Hello! Soooooo, we'll forget Rui getting in Nohara's way all the time, kayyyyyyyyyy? ;D Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 01, 2011, 01:28:51 PM *feels so out of the loop because he has no idea who anyone is these days...* ???

I thought it was funny. ^_^
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 01, 2011, 01:35:07 PM Hey, I figured it was one of two people, and I guessed the other. Both started with F and sound similar, sooo. I was 'close'?
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Mirumoto Asahi on October 01, 2011, 01:36:05 PM I'm too new for you, Shui.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 01, 2011, 01:39:35 PM All you young'uns and your..."rock and roll"...
*gets out his cane* Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on October 01, 2011, 01:42:19 PM I'm so hipster you've probably never heard of any of my characters.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on October 01, 2011, 02:20:51 PM I've only played once before... >.>
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Hoseki on October 01, 2011, 06:47:11 PM I have played before.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 01, 2011, 06:49:45 PM does this mean we are supposed to remember people from game to game?
Knew I was doing something wrong.... Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Asako Hanasaku on October 01, 2011, 06:50:34 PM This will not be my first pbp game.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Hoseki on October 01, 2011, 06:55:48 PM does this mean we are supposed to remember people from game to game? Knew I was doing something wrong.... Oh I swear I only know talk to 1 or 2 people outside of the game settings. I don't even care who they used to be so your probable doing it right. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on October 01, 2011, 07:41:16 PM does this mean we are supposed to remember people from game to game? Knew I was doing something wrong.... Glad I'm not the only one. I was reading Hlaroo's character list and going "damn, man, I was in some of those and have no clue who you are" :P [Edit: typos 'cause running through a tournament with a Phoenix ToP Enlightment deck is mind-boggling] Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 01, 2011, 08:06:09 PM I usually recall when people start quoting character names.
Until then though it's up in the air >.> Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 01, 2011, 08:38:05 PM I remember the great majority of you ^_^
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 01, 2011, 08:51:41 PM ....cheater
:p Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Miki on October 01, 2011, 09:30:23 PM I remember the great majority of you ^_^ Do you know who I am? :) Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shui on October 02, 2011, 12:33:34 AM I know who I am.
Signed, Your Friendly Neighborhood Gaijin Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 02, 2011, 01:14:52 AM ....cheater :p A little bit yes. We have a kinship of sorts sir. Do you know who I am? :) Yes. Partly because of my cheatery. I'll admit you really threw me off. Another player on this forum played a Kakita Miki in the past, and I thought it was a rehash at first. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 02, 2011, 01:31:58 AM Soooooo, we'll forget Rui getting in Nohara's way all the time, kayyyyyyyyyy? ;D Nein. ;) I'm looking forward to this character from you though. It's a bit different from anything I remember you playing before. And I have your whoooooole list. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 02, 2011, 01:40:07 AM If that's the Rui I am thinking of I'm pretty sure he doesn't deserve forgiveness :p
A little bit yes. We have a kinship of sorts sir. True enough I suppose Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 02, 2011, 01:42:12 AM I'm surprised you would even know what I'm talking about :D
I should say I have a kinship with Kakita Hoseki. That's more accurate I think. In an obscure way. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 02, 2011, 01:48:58 AM I figured you meant a lot of old school players keep track of each other. Which they do >.>
I used to keep better track myself but I missed more then a few games as of late. Have too get back into the swing of l5r last character I made I was rather disappointed in. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 02, 2011, 02:04:59 AM I thought he was fun. If the game had lasted longer, I think our characters would have been good male-gossip buddies. ;D
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 02, 2011, 02:12:03 AM It was mostly because i don't think i ever nailed down his personality to the degree i wanted. You are right though more time and more threads and we could of been good friends.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Hlaoroo on October 02, 2011, 02:14:41 AM That's fair. I didn't for mine either. Not quite.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 02, 2011, 02:50:01 AM That's how it goes though. Can take a bit to properly get the feel of a character.

This time the sex of Miki was being questioned, and Asahi decides to set off for an ulterior-motivated quest to learn the truth and get some lesbian fun in the process. Intersected by a background rant about Crane sexuality by a bunch of deranged individuals, the plot thickens when Miki begins her flight as an invitation for a 'catch me if you can'. The plan to introduce gay homosexuality into the plot ultimately fails as one of the proponents betrays the project and unilaterally proclaims kharmic transsexualism. Heartbroken Amano refuses his labours for one of the love-bound girls and starts scheming his revenge. He's too occupied by brooding to notice that Asahi's bisexuality allows him a chance. During Miki's flight, we learn more of her complicated motivations and self-depreciating tendencies, an opportunity for a plotting Shuichi to manipulate her into swearing fealty to the Mantis. Enraged by the turn of events, Miki directs her ire against her lustful pursuer, what allows her to switch tables, albeit briefly. Meanwhile, Amano sinks his let-downs in conspicuous consumption, assisted by kharmically transsexual Karoshi, but when he's deserted by him-her when the Scorpion buys his-her way to Asahi's sympathy with gaijin cuisine, his unrequited emotions are nearing explosion. In a fabulous scene an erhu musician confronts a Lion beastmistress and her feline girls over miki, and their deadlock is broken by Amano setting fire to the world. That moment an evil hookah-smoking cult that has plotted it all along rears its ugly head and rejoices at the world's destruction in giant conflagration. The love and humanity, if not humankind (no parthenogenesis, sadly), is saved when Miki saves the life of Asahi by inviting her into her bunker. The episode spectacularly closes when the final protagonist, Masakaze, the cross-dressing hermaphrodite (or not) seals the safety of love flourishing in the bunker. Stay tuned for the next episodes of "The Veterans"! Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on October 02, 2011, 09:18:01 PM *runs into Miki's bunker*

L5R takes many liberties with all the busty women it has! As someone who prefers 'em a bit smaller than average, I find myself raging quite a bit about L5R art :P It's better now though. The Japanese animation style they tried introducing at the beginning of Celestial was awful. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Soshi Karoshi on October 04, 2011, 05:05:08 PM And now, faithful audience, the Workaholic Productions brings to you the fresh new episode of "the Veterans"!
*commercial break* The action restarts with heartbroken Amano crossing the mental line into indiscriminate pyromania. He sets fire to the bunker and continues his work of fiery annihilation elsewhere. Asahi is suggested by the manipulative Moshi to change her heart and lose herself to Karoshi, but she resists the temptation and chooses to stay in the bunker's hot atmosphere. This moment of hesitation costs her an immediate girl-on-girl action, however, as in the meantime neglected Miki realises she's missing ONE'S evil twin brother and descends into deep dungeons beneath the bunker. (S)he's successful almost immediately. While facing the moustache-twirling DBZ-defiant goatee-not-sporting & breasts-not-having Evil Miki, in an act that becomes the stuff of legends (s)he... PUTS IT IN! This happens when in the background insane Amano hurls incendiary bakery products into the dungeon. The dilemmas of Asahi continue, and through introspection she finally reaches enlightened conclusion that despite her proactive attitude, in her heart she's an uke. There is a price to enlightenment thoguh - her MoY personality begins to undergo violent redefinitions... *commercial break* ...and in her pursuit of perfect love she embraces the fascinating world of threesomes involving yojimbos. The third, however, reveals itself to be Ousei, a professional Scorpion molester, very sexy and very cursed. Meanwhile, both Sanity and Shin self-defenestrate. The metaplot reason for the insanity is foreshadow by some talk on a mysterious virus that has struck several times before. Tales from other series are recalled, hinting on threesomes eventually becoming complex multidimensional moresomes. This only opens the plot wide for more insanity, and... the Scarlet Pimpernel invades the series from some BBC-sponsored remake featuring a death-level whiskey-inebriated all-powerful bunny! *commercial break* We begin with a retrospection: a single, meaningful scene of Amano who, having eschewed the power of natural pheromones, is preparing for the olfactory conquest of world of women by other means. He is yet unaware of his imminent failure because of choosing Old Spice over Axe (a yet undisclosed villain poured that into his Hugo Boss flask having drunk the original content). The alcoholism spreads, Hoseki taking example from the drunkard rabbit, but who can blame her after her nose was molested by Amano's unfashionable fragrance? The camera flies to the sky as Hoseki passes out and refocuses on Miki's breasts, which are disclosed to be... less than average, which brings new dimensions to ONE'S gender ambiguity. In a plot breakthrough, a stupored Hoseki proposes the Mantis to supplant the Dragon in sex determination. *commercial break* The sybarite life of our heroes, heroines and everything that comes in the middle, flourishes: sex and alcohol are joined by sweets. But before this happens, we witness a dramatic scene when Amano, in a futile attempt to prove his sobriety to Miki, provokes ONE to stab him, hurting his kimono and his feelings. The experience has the potential to descend into bitter enmity. Miki, realising this, tries desperately to prevent it by sharing sweets with Amano amid the bunker flames. Alas, it's too late. Amano transforms into a Matsu and proclaims feud against Miki, rejecting the offer. And so, the candy cold war begins. While Amano boasts about his exclusive possession of multi-head weapon of mass sacharidisation, Miki shares her strategic resources with her lover and ally, Asahi. *commercial break* The drunk bunny, dejected by being deprived of Dribbly Foamer Cunt (tm), tries to leave the plot but fails, overcome by a throng of bunny females. After this epic slash we get even more, with manipulative married Moshi, recently appointed gender tester, slowly becoming outmanouvred by a Shelob-style femme fatale. He tries to flee and find a replacement... but in vain! In a high point of this lengthy episode, in masterful formal correspondence with the opening scenes he... PUTS IT IN! Shuichi's adulterous success enrages Amano, who is instead having athletics fun, Matsu-style, with the help of Aoki and her girls. *final commercial break* In the final scene Miki, all sparkling, tries to leave the bunker. ONE is immediately slaughtered by the stupored kinswoman, soon joined by Aoki. Amano, exploited by the Matsu training and true to his feud, watches the death coldly. It is then revealed that in addition to earlier moustache-twirling Evil Miki, Original Miki had also a Sparkling sibling, which she has just disposed of through dupes. But in yet another unexpected turn of events she is exposed by Shui, the stick-in-the-butt-not-having ninja horseman who's been hiding in the bunker! But... his horse happens to be Amano in disguise, who attacks some or all incarnations of Miki, dead included, with incendiary pastries in a setting shamelessly stolen from a popular1973 HK kung fu movie. It is then revealed that the whole intrigue of multiplicating Miki was a visual illusion planned by the ropes-pulling Scorpion! Stay tuned for the next episode! The stories can be campy leading the viewer to believe that the danger isn't really something to get frantic about and the dialogue muddled, especially if you live in the states, making it hard to follow. That said there is some good stuff in Dr. Who. I am a big fan. That said I dislike BSG. I don't like that show at all. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Moshi Shuichi on October 05, 2011, 05:12:42 PM I kinda liked The Walking Dead
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on October 05, 2011, 05:41:52 PM I actually really enjoyed the re-imagined BSG. The stories never got too tech-driven, and I thought that with a little tweaking it could also translate well as a western.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on October 05, 2011, 06:53:45 PM BSG stands for Battle Star: Galactica, I suppose. I liked the new one. Some episodes were great. Other were so-so. Gaius Baltar won the series. The end was stupid. Like, really stupid. It felt like a date with a 7-8 chick ending up with coitus interruptus as her father walked into the room with a shotgun.
The Walking Dead felt okay for like two episodes for me. Then it got all Mexican soap opera on my ass, and not the good kind they have in the graphic novel. And well, the end was moronic. Also :P Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Asako Iori on October 05, 2011, 06:57:31 PM I really liked the new BSG, but fyi TNT's Falling Skies was awesome.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kitsuki Yasuko on October 05, 2011, 08:09:04 PM I also liked the new BSG, but I agree with Shin that the ending was so lame... only way it could've been worse would've been "it was all a dream".
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shu on October 05, 2011, 08:44:36 PM Well, keep in mind that wasn't supposed to be the ending for BSG. There was supposed to be another season or two, but they had to rush.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on October 05, 2011, 09:30:03 PM only way it could've been worse would've been "it was all a dream". My parallelism is still applicable! 8) I really liked the new BSG, but fyi TNT's Falling Skies was awesome. I found Falling Skies boring. Then again, I probably should've watched past the pilot. I did enjoy the Terra Nova pilot though. It was kinda like Lost but not boring! Then again, I only got bored of Lost after six episodes or so. Terra Nova still has time to disappoint :P Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on October 05, 2011, 09:37:18 PM I still think I'm the only one who liked FlashForward and The Cape.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Seppun Shin on October 05, 2011, 09:49:40 PM Didn't even hear of FlashForward, but I kinda liked the explicit comic style of The Cape. Didn't like the protagonist at all though. The actor never did it for me. The black circus guy owned that show.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Yoritomo Amano on October 05, 2011, 10:01:00 PM Yeah, that guy was the Muslim priest guy from Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. He's a fantastic character actor.
Completely agree with you on the protagonist, he was really weak. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Shinjo Shu on October 06, 2011, 02:01:25 AM The pilot for Falling Skies was slow, but it did speed up and by the end of the season if left me wanting more, oh so much more.
Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Hoseki on October 06, 2011, 06:34:08 AM Well, keep in mind that wasn't supposed to be the ending for BSG. Title: Re: Veterans Post by: Kakita Hoseki on October 06, 2011, 07:24:01 AM SG-1, absolutely loved that show until the Ori turned up and made them jump the celestial shark with a wormhole. The cast was still good. Loved Ben Browder as Mitchel. But yeah it was even more plot heavy then Atlantis and that was the problem. SG should be light plot, episodic, and funny. 1. I was on a quest to retrieve the super prize on the other side of the bridge. 2. The guardian set the rules of passage. Incorrect answer meant death. 3. He asked a question and I answered correctly. 4. I asked a question and he answered incorrectly. See? I secured my achievement while playing be the rules.
