Contest 2! Pre Game Story

Here is the second contest and you don't have to be artsy to play!
Many people give out extra XP for either a good character background or answering the 20 questions.  I'm doing something a bit different.  I want you to write your own, public background story (you may not want to put spoilers in it you want to reveal in game).  Don't make it too long.  I'm limiting it to 1,000 words.  You can make it about whatever part of your character's history you like and be a way to introduce your character to the game.

To enter do the following:
- Make a thread in this forum.
- Fill it with a short story about 1,000 words (I won't be counting so you can fudge, but abuse will be disqualified)
- Make sure your character is the central figure of the story and happens before the game starts

Prizes:
1st place: 10 XP
2nd Place: 7 XP
Honorable Mention (5 in all): 3 XP

Will be judged on: Readability, content, and how well received by fellow players it is.

What that last part means is: Go ahead and reply to ones you like and tell us that you support it.  We will definitely take your opinions to heart.

Contest ends on October 16th.  Winners announced on the 17th.

Everyone knows I'm a 'go with the flow' kind of person.  Laid back when it comes to thing, especially other people's things.  Not everyone is like that.  I've gotten a couple complaints with some strong arguments so I'm making a new rule.  On these stories for here on out you cannot edit them other than proofreading edits.  If you feel inspired to write another I don't want to stop you, but don't add to an existing story thread.  Make a new one.  Please make a note which story you want to submit for the story contest.  Thanks for understanding and have fun!
