I need to send my background. Problem is, I know all I want to say, how I want to say it, but... I just can't start the background with an adequate sentence :X

Well, at least it's better than overspent. I start with "Heisuke was born into..." scratch and try to find another, normally going AGAIN to the same sentence. I am seriously consider "This be Heisuke. He be fine." as a choice. |

Yeah.... I suppose I ought to go ahead and at least let the DM know the exact details of her background... but I hate ruining surprises. Even for GMs... though I know GMs hate surprises... >.<

Backgrounds can be a pain. I usually start with where they were born or how they look. Though I just pound it out as best I can. I try to make each a different person, but some overlap can happen. I tend to play the goodie goodie mostly. Though I've played my share of relaxed characters.

I usually keep my backgrounds pretty basic and build on them afterwards if necessary. Wake is a pretty simple character though so after the basics there wasn't really much to add.

The 20 additional questions are useful and make one think too. Never forget them.
And you do tend to play good characters Toku. I tend to play very straight ace samurai ko, effeminate/confused bushi, duelists who are secretly ninjas, horribly dirty shugenja (what? It's a fun contrast! Look up any religion's priest history and pretty much they all do it...) and sometimes the odd angry guy. I tend to find the angry guys die very quickly...
