Ok, this one that you put on after I went to bed last night ...

I like, however - couple things I noticed:

1. The box in the upper-right ... bright orange is a horrible color for links, and the red throws it off too. If you could find a way to put some sort of background on it instead of the box being see through? And then change the text color to better match the forums.

2. Clicking on "Show unread posts since last visit" - on the page it brings you to the "New" indicator has no picture. Just an indented box you can click, with a red X and the word "New" in it. *Double checks* ... Same if you simply go into the topic manually.

3. The New Posts/No New Posts indicator at the bottom of the main page: The New Posts is a pink flower, the No New Posts is a greyed-out version of the pink flower instead of the red flower that I see.

Yeah, this theme, while it looks great, has many problems.  I'm going to start modifing it today so I can get rid of the horrible.  Problem is I know very very little of HTML, so it's going to take awhile.  Please excuse my dust.

Working on the coding issue, now. Scrolling line by line for this xhtml/html4 img code for <new> posts....grrr....I should have it done soon. Also, if anyone has any ideas for things to add or modify, beyond the three suggestions made earlier, please inform either myself, or Evil Bob and wee shall address the issue as soon as possible! Thank you! (This is mostly in reference to the site design, not the general plot, though any questions or concerns are welcome!)

Yuck...I have to re-code it again. I was scared this happened. I hadn't saved the changes to the code I put in, before my browser refreshed....I think it's a sensitive system and reset the lines I manipulated before I pressed save...I'll jump back to it! Thanks for the heads up!

Yay quotes look better!

"New" post boxes borked again on the unread page. Not even showing up on the actual thread if you go to it manually. Sometimes clicking the "Show unread ...
 link doesn't bring up anything new, but when you go back to the homepage, you can see the new thread/post. (That last one may be a matter of timing, of course.)

Also, I noticed my sig got cut off. The last line reads "Quote: Publilius S"

The complete line dropped my characters remainnig to 3. I typed out the "Syrus" (which is how I've had it for the last few days), and hit "Change Profile." It immediately reverts it back to the non-full name typed out.

If that makes any damned sense.

You're probably over the capped limit for characters in a sig line. I can easily increase that to four hundred and accommodate most peoples sig lines, so they can also include things like banners and the such!

As for the notice icon for "new" posts. That's a bit more tricky and more work will need to be done than is worth doing. Though I did look into it extensively to find the issue, that being said, it is a small but very large issue to be worked out. The img.gif file extension has been removed from the host server. Meaning, that the picture for the "New" icon no longer exists and there is no replacement icon .gif file to use. As such, I downloaded the original skin from the SMF website and ran through it's XHTML code lines for nearly a day and a half to find that one line of attribute code that creates that icon, to see if it would reappear if I reverted to the non-modified version of the Theme...and that horribly failed and reverted everything, for a brief moment, into a nightmare color scheme and it cannot be unseen. Luckily I only loaded it temporarily and locally, so no-one else had to see it's terrible-ness.

So, now my only option of going forward is deal with the small problem of the "new" icon file directory being missing/broken. Or take the source code for this theme, and re-write it line by line and re-develop the img files, and then host that on the SMF server, and then try and have the owners of this site and server to host the Theme, and then install it onto this forum and then modify it further from there to make proper tweeks and adjustments for a near perfect website/forum...This could take me weeks to a month to finish, given my current schedule. And it would leave me unable to develop more plots and game content, and would stop me from helping to run the game.

The option I like is dealing with the missing Icon for now, unless someone else knows HTML4/XHTML as well as AJAX/JavaScript so they could follow the instructions I can give to re-develop this site for us. Though there is no pay for this job, and very little reward aside from a big giant internet huggle and an even huger thank you! Maybe a cookie as well. But for now. I do not think I will be able to fix that nasty little bugger, short of finding the original designer and forcing him to re-image and host the file again, the exact same way and through the sames paths as last he/she had it.

That....was a mouth full. Sorry for the jargon, but that's as simple as I can make it.

Ok then, I will pretend not to be mildly irked by the "new" icon.     Don't worry about it.

As for the sig - I'm not wasn't over the cap, unless that cap is was not showing up correctly when in the Forum Profile Info page in my profile. As I said, I still had three spaces left after typing out "Syrus."

In the current skin, the layout is a bit difficult to get used to, and there is little space for avatars. I notice Evil Bob's avatar now doesn't quite fit in the table.
